Course Description A round of golf at Eagle Crest offers some great golf holes beginning
with the first hole, a 454-yard, par 5. The hole is open and has a gentle
slope downhill and to the left. Ponds on each side of the front guard the
green. The 183-yard, par 3, 8th hole is still
the signature hole of the course. It has a small contoured green on a hill
with a huge pond between the tee and the green.
Be careful that the wildlife
doesn't distract what's already a difficult shot. Finish your front nine
on the 580-yard, par 5 to the 6000 square foot green built into numerous
mounds. The front nine is fairly open with some water, sand traps
and a few trees, along with large bent-grass sand based greens being implemented.
The
back nine holes revolve around many small ponds leading to a lake on the
southern end of the property. Finish your last few holes with some challenge,
like the 300 yard, par 4, 16th hole, which dog-legs left and has a large pine
tree in the fairway to protect from short cuts. On your approach shot to a
large green with the lake in the background, you will have to concentrate fully
on the shot at hand. The 17th Hole is a 407 yard Par 4 with the tee elevated 60
feet above a pond and the forward tee. Before you leave this tee, take a moment
to enjoy the view of the surrounding countryside. Large oak trees guard both
sides of the fairway which dog legs right up the hill to a large green. A good score at Eagle Crest is achievable, but one must stay focused throughout
your round.
The complete 18-holes also has irrigation on tees, fairways and greens.
With so many good changes made to Eagle Crest within the last few years, if you
haven't played it in a while, you may be pleasantly surprised with the new
challenges of the course.
Remember, you won't believe this gem until
you find it here in the heart of the valley.
