Match Play At EagleCrest
New for This Season!
This season we’re introducing a Round Robin to Bracket Match Play Series, a format made popular by events like the WGC Match Play Championship.
Players will first be placed into small groups, or “pods,” typically consisting of four competitors. Within each pod, players will compete in a round robin format of match play, meaning every player faces each of the other players in their group. In a four-player pod, each competitor will play three matches.
Once all round robin matches are completed, the top player from each pod advances to the championship bracket. From there, the tournament continues in a traditional head-to-head match play bracket until an overall champion is crowned.
This format guarantees multiple matches for every player while building toward an exciting knockout finish.
Entry & Format
Entry fee for the Eagle Crest Match Play Tournament is $20 per player. All entry fees collected will be paid back out in prizes.
A Match For Everyone
Men’s Handicap Division
Matches are played using full handicap differential. The lower handicap player competes at scratch, while the higher handicap player receives strokes based on the difference between the two players.
Senior Men’s Handicap Division (55+)
Open to players aged 55 and over. All matches will be played from the Gold Tees. This division also uses full handicap differential, with strokes awarded based on the difference between players.
Players will first compete in round robin pods, guaranteeing multiple matches for every participant before the tournament moves into the elimination bracket stage.
Divisions, pod sizes, and overall tournament structure will be determined by the number of players who register, allowing us to create the best and most competitive format possible. Minimum of 8 players required per division.
